VOlunteer opportunities
We collaborate with staff, students, alumni across the LSBU Family to create exciting, value-driven and rewarding opportunities for you to give your time and make a real difference in the lives of the next generation of students and alumni.
Are you interested in giving the gift of your time in one or more of these ways? Of course you are, you’re reading this page aren’t you? So what are you waiting for? Get involved by:
Speaking to students
It is never too early, or late to share your story by speaking to LSBU students about your career journey so far. Hearing your career stories gives our students a very real picture of what’s possible for them along with practical advice for how to create the work and life that they’ve worked so hard for.
You can do this through extra-curricular career panels, speed-networking evenings and even as part of the curriculum in employability talks.
Your story could point our students in the right direction as they look to create their own.

Taking part in a profile
Sharing your story in our ‘Alumni of the month’ profile or popular online campaigns.
We feature alumni role models that can inspire the next generation of students and help them on their way. Profiles are shared across the University communications channels and alumni whose stories feature in our marketing campaigns might catch themselves on social media, in between TV adverts or across the side of a bus! Profiles provide valuable insights for life and top tips that give our students that extra-edge.
LSBU alumna Donna Herdsman (BA Business Studies 1984) put it best “You can’t be what you can’t see”.

Providing jobs, internships or work placements
LSBU alumni represent a significant, distinctive and available resource when it comes to graduate employment and employability. You can give back by facilitating connections between the University and their organisation or directly offering jobs, placements or internships to LSBU students with their company.
Through LSBU’s Careers Hub platform we can also help you advertise jobs, internships or work placements to students and graduates.
