LSBU's Annual alumni Event

Since 2011 we have welcomed alumni with interesting stories to tell back to the University to share their experiences at our annual event. This event is a great way to meet fellow alumni, be inspired, and learn what being a member of our community is all about. Due to the current circumstances the 2020 event will be held online.

Change M

LSBU, The Home of Change-Makers

2020 marks the 10th anniversary of this event. This event is a discussion and celebration of the LSBU people who go out of their way to make a difference. Hear from an inspiring panel of change-makers who embrace the mind-set that focuses on possibilities rather than fears. They are driven by empathy and understand that done is better than perfect and these LSBU people don’t sit back and wait, they get up and do.

The panel will discuss why change-makers, like themselves, will transform the world and answer some thought provoking questions.

2019’s event marked the launch of our new fundraising programme, No Barriers to Brilliance. We welcomed back four alumni who shared stories of their realities and what barriers they have faced in their lives. In recent years, we have welcomed back the following alumni:

2018: Nicola Williams, Service Complaints Ombudsman for the Armed Forces.

2017: Glenn Elliott, Entrepreneur, author and speaker on company culture, leadership and the future of work.

View lecture.

2016: Tom Toumazis, former Director of Mecom, Yahoo UK, Disney EMEA

2015: Dr Sue Black, Tech evangelist, award-winning computer scientist and writer.

2014: Francis Thomas, Head of Communications at London Midland

We hold our annual event every autumn thanks to the generous support of alumnus Hitesh Tailor (BA Business Studies, 1979).
