This December, LSBU welcomes back to campus Tony Bates, Chairman and CEO of $2 billion Silicon Valley software company Genesys, which is a global cloud leader in AI-powered experience orchestration. He previously held executive leadership roles with technology brands such as Cisco, Microsoft and Skype. Nearly 40 years ago, Bates found his calling for transformative technology while apprenticing as a mechanical engineering student in the LSBU mainframe computer room. In his first visit since leaving South Bank in 1986, former student, Tony Bates will share his story of helping shape several of the most critical technology market transitions. First helping architect the internet that today powers the world’s economy, to ushering in the new era of online video conferencing and mobile apps, to now to spearheading global technology market leaders through their evolution to cloud computing, digital transformation and the AI revolution.
