KTP job opportunity

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a threeway project between a graduate, an organisation and a university. A KTP looks for top-quality graduates who want to accelerate their career growth by getting their teeth into a 24 to 36 month high-profile industry project. We currently have a job vacancy for a fixed term 2.5 year KTP appointment.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team with an innovative company which, working in a consortium, has developed novel cooling technology for Defensive Aids Subsystems on Eurofighter Typhoons.

The consortium consists of a company with responsibility and expertise in thermodynamics, a company with expertise and experience of building high quality refrigeration equipment for the defence industry and one of the UK's leading suppliers of temperature control, monitoring and refrigeration management services, JTL Systems Ltd.

JTL Systems' main business involves the development, design, manufacture and sales of electronic equipment for refrigeration control, monitoring and optimisation for commercial applications, mainly supermarkets.

The Typhoon area of work is an infant operation for JTL.  JTL's role in the consortium is to provide electronic control of the refrigeration system to cool defensive aids electronics on Eurofighter Typhoons when they are being ground tested.  The consortium’s strategy is to build up this new business sector and the successful applicant will help to develop this new business area.  It is anticipated that the successful candidate will take on increasing responsibility for the projects during the KTP period.

You should be an Honours (2.1 or better) graduate in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline, with some industrial experience in multidiscipline engineering.  You should be interested in a wide range of technical fields – the project is multidisciplinary and ability to understand and interact with personnel from within JTL, from within the other consortium members and from the customer organisations is key.

This vacancy has now closed.
