Learn Mandarin & visit China   

The Confucius Institute at London South Bank University is the world's first for Traditional Chinese Medicine and was the Confucius Institute of the Year award winner in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. They are offering alumni the chance to visit China in their "Summer in China" trip, a 10 day adventure in Beijing and Harbin.

The cost of accommodation, guided tours and cultural workshops is included; Alumni are only required to cover the cost of their flights and visa. In order to go on the trip Alumni will need to complete and pass HSK level 1, a course designed to teach and prepare students in basic Mandarin. Once the course has been completed, you will be eligible to apply for the “Summer in China” trip, subject to a successful visa application. 

The HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) teaching scheme is the Chinese Proficiency Test, which has 6 levels. HSK is recognised worldwide by educational institutions and companies, it is therefore a fantastic addition to your CV. The Confucius Institute is the leading provider of HSK, at just £90 for Alumni, this is excellent value for learning Mandarin and gaining a valuable certificate.
