LSBU launch Chinese Alumni Chapter

LSBU were delighted to welcome over 50 alumni to a special event to launch the LSBU Chinese Alumni Chapter and celebrate the University’s 120th year anniversary. Former students enjoyed an evening of fine dining, entertainment and nostalgia in the grand surroundings of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Beijing, on 18th December 2012.

The evening began with a welcome speech from Pro Vice-Chancellor, Beverley Jullien; followed by a speech from Dr Min Liu , Executive Director of Confucius Institute for TCM, and alumnus, Mr. Zhe Li, Director of International, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China.

The launch of the Chinese Alumni Chapter was met with much enthusiasm from our alumni, who are keen to see more events and activities organised for LSBU graduates in China.  The Chinese Alumni Chapter aims to bring together former students of LSBU for the purpose of social and professional networking, employability, keeping in contact with friends from the University and promoting lasting ties between the alumni and LSBU.

The University is now accepting applications from our alumni who are interested in helping to manage the Chapter. If you are interested, please email srbj2@lsbu.ac.uk to arrange a telephone call with Mei Qian from the LSBU Beijing Office before the 9th February 2013. We will then be able to explain more about this great opportunity to help lead the LSBU Chinese Alumni Chapter and turn it into an active and thriving group.
