Global Entrepreneurship Week

If you have a desire to be the next Richard Farleigh or Deborah Meaden and need advice on unleashing your inner entrepreneur, then come along to our inspiring range of events to mark Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Taking place from the 12 to 18 November, Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest campaign promoting business start-ups. During this week the Student Enterprise team at LSBU have organised stimulating workshops, talks and activities with first class guest speakers to help alumni who are interested in starting their own enterprise/project or enhance their employability skills.

Monday 12th November - Business Live Challenge
3pm – 6pm
K 405 (Keyworth Centre)  

Take part in live challenges set by Industry Leaders and win money can’t buy prizes.

Start Up Clinic – Social Entrepreneur Ben Gallacher will provide advice and opportunity for you to share ideas and concerns.

Tuesday 13th November - Business Advice Drop in Sessions

Support and expert advice from the Student Enterprise team.

Wednesday 14 November - Marketing and Social Media Lecture

Sharon Mclean, Founder and Director of ‘Business with Excellence.com’ and Matteo Montecchi, London College of Fashion will be providing an insight into how to research your target market and the best ways to communicate with them.

Thursday 15th November - Social Enterprise

Find out about the funding available for your Social Enterprise ideas:

LSBU has been awarded funding by UnLtd to help our staff and students get Social Enterprise ideas off the ground and help change London for the better. Come and hear our speaker Peter Ptashko (Partnership and Support Manager, Unltd www.unltd.org.uk) talk about the basics of Social Enterprise and the funding available.

Neil Wates, founder of Social Enterprise Monster Comedy will talk about what makes a successful Social Enterprise.

Friday 16th November
Technopark Building, Reception Area

9am – 12pm - join Tomorrow’s People for a cake sale and a drop-in session from in the 2nd Floor Conference room in Technopark for people interested in setting up a social enterprise and working with young people.

2pm – 5pm – meet in Technopark reception for the Enterprise Treasure Hunt and take advantage of the opportunity to meet and network with nearly 70 businesses from various industries based in our Technopark building. There will also be a prize for the most resourceful treasure hunter.
