GE Lifestyle is an online lifestyle WebTV/online magazine focussing on music, fashion, beauty and arts. Creator and Director Roger R Moore spoke to the LSBU Alumni Association about his new online project: “GE Lifestyle gives coverage to emerging and established talents via video content and print articles. GE Lifestyle’s future plan is to arrange live events which will merge live music, art and fashion. The purpose of these live events is to give our online audience the opportunity to experience a unique and cultured event which reflects our online content.”

Roger has been working in partnership with the LSBU Alumni Association to bring you the very first Alumni Music Night which takes place on Thursday 6 June 2013. Having chosen to study at LSBU due to the multicultural atmosphere of the university, Roger is excited to be coming back to campus as host of this special evening of live entertainment: “The Alumni Live Music Night will have some of the best emerging talents in the music scene. LSBU alumni, students and staff will have a chance to reunite and simultaneously enjoy some fantastic live music”.

The idea of GE Lifestyle came about during Roger’s second year at LSBU: “Being passionate about music, I wanted to be a part of the evolution of UK-produced music especially from today’s young artists. I wanted to create an online platform that would give emerging acts the opportunity to be heard and that’s how GE lifestyle was created.”

Does Roger believe the diversity of London’s population is a help or a hindrance to artistic expression? “Of course, London is a diverse community. But I think the culture of London can be integrated a bit more by people being respectful and actively interested in their neighbour’s culture. I believe this will combat ignorance and discrimination as all forms of art emulate life.”

Headlining the Alumni Live Music Night will be Brixton’s finest rock n’ funk export, The Thirst, who recently made a special acoustic appearance on GE Lifestyle and have completed tours with The Sex Pistols and The Rolling Stones. There will also be soulful acoustic supports acts from London’s up-and-coming musicians Sadia McEwen, Rotimo Soul, Ivory Heroes and Mariama.
