Business and start-up support

As the UK’s Entrepreneurial University of the Year 2016, we provide award-winning entrepreneurial support to alumni, whatever stage your business is at. After all, we believe it’s what you do after you graduate that really matters.

Free events and workshops:

Hear from inspirational entrepreneurs and gain top tips for employment, self-employment or starting a business, at our free talks and workshops. Run by LSBU’s Student Enterprise team, the events are a great way to find out what it’s like to be an entrepreneur, learn vital new skills and build your network. Check out our upcoming events.

IdeaHub

Open exclusively to LSBU students and alumni (graduated within the last five years), IdeaHub is a programme that helps you take an idea for a potential business, test it and launch it.

It begins with a 2-week hackathon called IdeaHack which offers free access to mentors, workshops delivered by start-up experts and funding. If you successfully launch your idea and can prove it works, you’ll become part of IdeaHub; an exclusive community of entrepreneurs with access to further funding and legal support to keep growing your idea.

Clarence Centre for Enterprise and Innovation

Our Clarence Centre has been recognised nationally and globally as a hub of entrepreneurial activity. It is home to a variety of start-ups, student and graduate entrepreneurs and local businesses. It also houses the Legal Advice Clinic and the Business Solutions Centre, free drop-in advice services. For further information contact Adrian Tindall on tindalla@lsbu.ac.uk
